Jaguar Adds Spotify App to Infotainment

Anybody that has ever used Spotify, either as an app on a smartphone or as a streaming desktop interface on a laptop or personal computer knows what a fine streaming music service it truly is. As the world's most popular streaming music service, Jaguar felt the need to integrate it into their infotainment system so that FM radio and old mix CDs weren't the only ways that drivers in Indianapolis, IN could interact with their 2017 Jaguar XF or 2017 Jaguar F-PACE automobiles.

"Spotify currently has over 100 million active users and over 40 million subscribers, a proportion of whom drive Jaguar vehicles, so we recognized that Spotify was at the top of our customers' apps wish list," said Peter Virk, Director of Connected Technologies and Apps, Jaguar. "The app is now available in our InControl Apps library, and we will continue to work with Spotify to add new features such as predictive search over the coming months."

In the meantime, drivers can use Spotify at home to create playlists that ultimately can be streamed through the Spotify app in their Jaguar automobiles, meaning no commercials and no more clunky CD storage in a car just to have the optimal selection of music available. Full albums, of course, also are available through the streaming service.

As your local Indianapolis, IN Jaguar dealership, we're all about any technology that improves the driving experience for Jaguar owners, and Spotify integration is exactly the sort of thing that accomplishes that. There really is no better way to experience music in the car these days, which is why we're so glad to see it added to the list of compatible apps. Stop by Jaguar Indianapolis and check out how it works in one of our vehicles today!
